Weekly production Log 10 (30.03.2014)

This week I continued on writing and finished my research log and my code of practice. This was due in at exactly 8pm by due to multiply internet crashes, I only got to upload the code of practice and save that piece before i lost connection and had to spend an hour typing everything that i had lost, this is due to my laptop  as it has something wrong with it where the internet will go and it cant find it for a long time forcing me to restart it constantly and if that wasn't enough the internet became slower some point this week making it longer to load up websites, and struggling play any videos when i was working on my code of practice and needs to be fixed as some point. Another problem i had was trying to split my time between working on the code of practice and working on something that was due in on Friday for ICT, this lead to me spending a lot of the week on ICT and the weekend on media. This was a problem as i was also going out with family that Saturday away all day so i have to do my media work while tethering to my phone so that i could use the internet to research the work. I am not currently sure that my class is doing this week as we spent most if not all our time working on these code of practices and research logs.

Weekly production Log 9 (23.03.2014)

This week we finished editing our music video and on Tuesday we uploaded it to YouTube, which means we finished that section of the music video and we still have to finish post production.

I contributed by helping edit scenes together and giving my feedback as to what needed fixing.
There was no problems this week as we didn't actual do much relating to the music video as we finished but i actual received a message on YouTube concerning my older video which was my pitch, as i had used a song that didn't belong to me and did not specify this, YouTube told me that i had third party content which was the lorde song 'royals' which i did use in the video at about 4:00 and that the video of the pitch maybe taken off of YouTube for copyright reasons, i told my teacher and he told me to save a copy of the video in case YouTube removes it so i have the extra to use just in case which i have done already. During Wednesday's lesson we went over all the legal information regarding our videos and we have the task of answering some questions on this in as much detail as possible for the best grade and we have till the 28th to finish this which doesn't seem like a lot of time at all. I have started this and have not gotten far but I have four more lessons to continue this and all the after school time i need so i should be finished.

Weekly production Log 8 (16.03.2014)

This week my group was editing again and this happened on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as we had the deadline on Friday or so we thought but on Thursday we were told that our deadline was extended till Tuesday as some pupils in the class hadn't finished filming  for their own reasons so we all got a extension watching through the movie on Wednesday we realized we didn't have enough shots to film the full song so we when out on Friday to film extra shots of Taylor and myself, hopefully we can edit some stuff together and fill in the gap.
I contributed by filming and being shot again in the video but those shots may need to be deleted and re filmed as I wasn't wearing the same clothes that day as I was at the beginning. So we may have to film that on Monday. I also created a little animation for the video of which a stamp creates the word lock down on a piece of paper which would fill in for the shot that was the same but with me, the reason we could use this is because back when we filmed the same scene but with me, I messed up and ruined the shot. The only problem we had this week was the huge gap with no shots in it, we ran out of shots on Wednesday forcing us to make more and break some and edit them to look usable. Next week we plan to finish the project on Tuesday, upload it to you tube and start the next project.

Weekly production Log 7 (09.03.2014)

This week we finished all our filming which was all the shots involving, the basement. We filmed all the shots on Tuesday afternoon, as of today we have 5 days to finish editing which should be easy.
We also not only had a couple more shots we could add but we got the shots of the CCTV monitor re filmed with me looking the part. I contributed by filming a couple of the shots on Tuesday, editing some shots and also being in the shots for the CCTV monitor. There was again only one problem as we were almost finished filming, we needed to do one more shot and one of the group members didn't want to be seen and as this was the last scene and we had to make do with what we had, though we have lots of scenes we keep finding ourselves with gaps and not enough different shots that look good to use, as we continue to edit, we find ways of making aria seem more crazy as we have shots like her falling to the ground, crawling backwards into a corner, sitting still and rocking slowly, this gives use not only shots but extra shots that help us to add a edge to her that says shes crazy and she needs to be here, the only problem I have is that the basement doesn't really look like asylum room at all as there are pipes and such in the room. Next week we will continue editing and if needed re filmed.

Permission to Film

Weekly production Log 6 (02.03.2014)

This week was our last week to film during lesson times so when we told we have to film after school or at lunch/break. This leaves us with 12 days as of the 2nd, our final deadline is Friday 14th of march 2014.

We also decided as a group to ask to film in the basement instead of anywhere else as it looked scary and empty,  this week we filmed the CCTV videos which was pretty good, This week i contributed by actually being in the video playing the Security man watching Taylor (aria) as she when crazy then falling a sleep at the post allowing here to escape. There was only one problem this week as one of the group members didn't turn up to our filming time after school and when confronted they said that they had a dentist appointment which was annoying as this set us back a bit more we chose not to film as we wanted to film as a group and it wouldn't work with out that person , we plan to film the scenes involving aria in the actual room on Tuesday as everyone is free that day. During our actual lessons we plan to watch what we have filmed, choose what scene we filmed was the best, and start editing the music video so it looks good. We still have film shots 1a - 1c, 6a, 7a -9a, 10a, 10c -12b, 25a- 25b, 27a -29a, 31a, 33a - 34b, 35b, 37a and 45a.

Weekly production Log 5 (23.02.2014)

This week we had no school so we planned to go to hackney to film most of  the scenes for the music video but there was a fire at the building which left us without a building. We also had a back up in case something we couldn't control like this happened, but it was sold and we couldn't use it.

This is a major problem as we now don't have a building to film a lot of the scenes at but luckily one of the group members said that she could see if we could film at her grandmother basement, if we are allowed to we should be able to film the shots with in a couple hours. This has knocked us off our schedule but with some hard work we can get back on it.

Next week we are going to be shooting some other shots including the cctv shots and the shots requiring the nurses, we need to do leaving us with the building shots left which we will do when we can meaning we are going to film after school and lastly we will be starting to edit what we've got so far as we go along. The shots we were going to do in hackney are 1 -1c, 6a, 71 - 9a, 10a, 10c - 12b, 25a -25b, 27a - 29a, 31a ,33a -34b,35b and 37a - 45a and the shots we have already completed are as followed ; 2a, 2b, 2c and 2d which really isn't a lot considering we have about 90 more shots to go.

Weekly production Log 4 (16.02.2014)

This week my group finally finished all the paper work for the music video and was allowed to film, we filmed shots 2a to 2d which was the scenes which Taylor is siting with Jada in a room as aria and the therapist as they talk, instead of them talking Taylor lip syncs the song and at the same time she switches seating positions. We also received a camera, a tripod and an sd card from out teacher to use over the holidays as we are off from school for a week. I contributed by filming each shot and after that we reviewed them and decided that they were good. This is perfect with the schedule as this is was when and what we were meant to do. The only problem i saw was that one of the group members could possible brake out in laughter while filming and this could be a problem if this persists, we can over come this by helping her to not brake out in laughter. another small problem was as we took the equipment off of school property there was a downfall of rain which could have broken the camera or the tripod. we overcame this obstacle by letting a the who lived closest to school take the equipment home with them. Next week we will be shooting the shots 1 -1c, 6a, 71 - 9a, 10a, 10c - 12b, 25a -25b, 27a - 29a, 31a ,33a -34b,35b and 37a - 45a, this will be done on tuesday and will take us about 3 to 4 hours to complete, this will also be the only day we will be shooting in the holiday and we will do this in hackney.

Job roles

Taylor will be the main character in the music video playing 'Aria', the female who will be going crazy as part of the story.She was chosen to play the lead as she is able to act crazy and therefore would be a perfect match for Aria. Taylor will also be the producer as well, the producer will also be in charge of supervising the whole music video.

Anthony will be chief cameraman, as he has been in many productions before hand and knows the most about cameras. He is also in charge for looking after the camera and the tripod and if it goes missing, all the responsibility would be on him, He has a steady hand which will be good for filming shots. He also is the CCTV monitor, who will watch Aria as she goes crazy and escapes.He was they only male in our group and is reliable.








Jada will be the psychiatrist, in the music video for a couple of scenes, she was chosen to do this as she is the last person in the group who is not in the video yet, she is a good listener, she will also be the director and the main editor of the video. The video was her idea and she knows what scenes she will want to keep and what scenes she will want to delete.

Weekly production Log 3 (09.02.14)

This week, Me and my group completed the shooting script, we finished this on Wednesday and got up to
93 shots, even though the minimum was 100 but Mr. Mallen our teacher is allowed us to leave it at 93 as there were no more shots we could add. I contributed to the group by typing up the risk assessment which would talk about possible risks for us while filming like being robbed or being hurt by the equipment there wasn't that many as we couldn't think of anything. This fitted in production schedule as we are on track. this week there was one slight problem as one of the group member was away as she had tonsillitis and was off the whole week, also there was a problem about us going to Tudor road in hackney as 2 of us we skeptical of going as it is dangerous with the gangs and such, but we found out that we to. Lastly we were a bit questionable about the what we needed and what we had, we needed to use the ict room but we not be allowed in the room as its for the ict moderators, if we cant use that room we decided to use a computer in the study room as it looked like a CCTV room but the ict room looked better as it had 3 computers which seemed like i was watching everyone instead of this one person.It was OK that one of us wasn't for reasons we couldn't control.Our plans for next week are to finish the Risk Assessment Form and the call sheet.

shooting script

Weekly production Log 2 (02.02.2014)

This week I worked with my group to create the shooting script, and got up to 50 shots on Friday and planned to do the at least 15 over the weekend. On Monday the third we have to be at 75 shots to keep up to date and finish on that day, I contributed by adding more shots, and typing on Wednesday, as a group member was ill at the time, she recovered though and returned the very next day, I also found a way to implement my original idea of my music video being in black and white in the music video my group is doing. So far the group seems like we're on schedule and is working well. The only problem I see is that the events that happen in the music video are already ahead of schedule, as we are on the 2nd verse and are almost at the end of the basic story, to fix this we can just add more ideas in at the start which make aria (Taylor) seem more crazy another thing that could be a possible problem is that the ideas for make aria seem crazy are all from horror movies which could change the music video make the movie seem more like a horror/thriller than just her being crazy, but this can be fixed by using ideas from a movie about a crazy person and basing ideas about then and recreating them for our music video.
Our plans for next week is to finish the script, proof read it, show it to Mr Mallen, have him check it over and give us feedback on it and fix it based on the feedback and then start planning the filming.

Weekly production Log 1

This week I was put into my group and as a group we chose which music video we were going to do, we ended up choosing jada's music video as hers was the best, next we answered a couple of questions about music video and uploaded that to YouTube, lastly we created a shot list which the lyrics and what they will show. The only problem i had was the fact that i uploaded the wrong video for the group q and a and have to re upload that. the plan for this week will be to go over what we will be filming, where and when in each of the weeks. I hope I can be as much help as possible as I feel as I am not useful in the group.

Last week i had to give a presentation on my music video which was recorded using a camcorder for me to re watch and if needed re do it. This was very hard as i am a quiet person and have some sort of stage fright. If i could do the presentation again i would change add more videos in and go slower as i was very fast when speaking which made me mess up and have to start my sentence again. I then got some feedback on my pitch and that helped me form more idea about eh music video in my head and then i was told to upload then both to YouTube which i did and linked it onto my blogger.

Media pitch and feedback

This is my pitch for a band's song i decided to use,
I would have given more detail on is what my music video's conventions are as i didn't talk a lot about them.
The creativity of the pitch could have been a bit fuller and I could have been louder but all the slides worked will and didn't take long to load up anything.
I feel like i should have used the song from unsigned.com instead of YouTube as the YouTube's version is not a good quality , as there was a lot of shuffling.
The audience found that the idea of a black and white music video with an angel was a strength as they didn't really ask any questions about it, and they seemed to enjoy the pitch.
The audience seemed like the idea was going down the surrealism pitch way was not for the music video and the age range was too much of a gap as the children would maybe not find it interesting, and the gender department of AGILE.
If I could redo the pitch again I would change the beginning part of the music video to make it so that the little animations plays on a loop and starts up automatically, I would add more about the Andrew Goodwin theory, the male gaze and the star persona, add more flare to the images and to add more videos and images to it while adding. Looking back on it, I noticed I was not very loud while presenting and didn't really show the excitement I needed to, and also I didn't seem very energetic as I should have been.
